Also, each workplace is a miniature planned economy with all of its advantages and drawbacks.The main strength of free market system is that companies can die without completely destroying people and resources they controlled. Which wasn't the case for state-wide totalitarian planned economies.
When you try to protect companies from dying you are losing the main strength of the free market.
