I'm not sure why this comment is dead. I don't really agree with what is stated here, mainly because I lack any faith in the critical thinking skills of most people mentioned in this post. I can't imagine there will ever be another Snowden. After seeing how whistleblowers are prosecuted by the government and villified by the public while literally nothing changes[1], who would throw their life away for that?[1] Actually, the situation has only gotten worse and worse.
