is pretty amusing in the context of
1. trying to set fire to an iron gate many tens of feet from anything flammable and
2. failing to break a glass door with a patio chair.

I don't understand how people are compelled to violence by a technology they barely understand. The incredible amount of misinformation in Luddite circles leads to harassment and attempted murder. There is so much wrong with the world and yet one of the biggest concerns Americans have is with technologies like ChatGPT.by kittikitti

If you keep telling folks the thing you’re building might mean “lights out” for humanity, some people will take you seriously.
To be clear, this doesn’t excuse the idiot attempted murderer. But dialing up hysteria to scare up investors doesn’t come for free.
