Build web apps for smart glasses

I wasn't aware of these glasses, pretty cool. Not sure I'm ready to drop that much money on a pair with prescription lenses though.

Would be useful to have my multimeter display in my field of view when heads down debugging a circuit. There are a few bluetooth meters on the market, so I think this is doable?

Looking at the SDK, the fixed LVGL font is a bummer. Ideally I'd like to have a raw framebuffer to control, though I imagine this is difficult to do over bluetooth without blowing your power budget. Maybe you could have a custom indexed tilemap and push sprites around?

“Plugins are web apps built with standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript) and the Even Hub SDK.”

I wonder if owners of these smart glasses who also hang out here have tried this. Might persuade me to buy a pair!

While this is neat and I love the idea of these glasses and wanted to buy a pair, the reports of delivery and quality issues in the subreddit put me off until things stabilise a bit.

I should invest time, so that you can sell more? Why?

That's how all platforms work, right? Apple, Microsoft, Android, Playstation, etc.

Yes, but platforms need to make a case for why we should feel inclined to make the effort.

Is the ROI from the potential audience going to be worth it?

Or does it help some people enough that I might want to do it despite no real ROI (i.e. I make the effort to make things not compatible with common assistive tech, even where there is little or no end benefit for me so it is sunk time in that respect, does this new platform quality for my time & attention enough in that way?).

Or is it simply cool enough for me to be interested in playing with it myself?

If none of the above, is there any other reason we should care?

This is especially true if building for the platform means building something new, not just making tweaks to ensure your existing output is compatible.

Not the original commenter, but an open and hackable wearable tech sounds like the exact type of thing I'd expect to see here on HN, no?
