That makes a lot more sense than banning them outright - this way, customers have one place to manage their Claude credits instead of having inexplicably separate API and Claude.ai billing. Now I hope they put together an official way to access Claude.ai via OAuth or the like, so third-party software has a easy way to integrate with this extra usage system w/o reverse engineering.by piperswe

There’s quite a large misconception that third party harnesses are banned. Anthropic specifically said the agent sdk is still allowed, as long as you build on top of it - you can create really powerful software that drives Claude code in an efficient, performant way other than the raw Claude code terminal appby moropex

First I went to the Claude web site, because we've all been trained not to click on links promising things, right? Couldn't find anything there so I checked the domain carefully and clicked on the link, which takes me to my settings page with no discernible discount. I am no longer surprised by anything not working, perhaps Claude itself vibe-sent this mass email.by masto

This is a much better approach than hard limits. Pay-as-you-go means power users stay on-platform instead of switching to competitors when they hit a wall. Smart move for retention.by wjs203040
