That’s not the source of the national debt. The Iran conflict is maybe 20 billion at most, and is mostly spending of things acquired in the past.It’s the general government spending that is out of control.

I was raised a complete pacifist due to religion. However, as an adult I have learned enough in life to understand that those who have no such lofty ideals will be happy to attack those who “don’t believe in violence.” For instance, like the now-dead Supreme Leader did to all the protestors a couple months ago.Nobody would prefer war to a lasting peace. But I prefer it to letting the likes of the Islamic Republic to just do as much horrible stuff as they want.
