Even though it is not perfect, it is inexcusable for any professional web developer / designer to have not read and taken to heart the WCAG.

It’s not the designers ruining scroll; they can be exotic if they want and the world will follow the innovations they like.

It’s ads that destroy the browsing experience. They all want to ruin your smooth scroll. Adding JavaScript hooks that block the page was sabotage.
