> Note: This section is extremely technical and contains a lot of decompiled code. It details the process of me reverse engineering the drivers for the display, LEDs and keyboard. If you’re not interested in that, feel free to skip ahead to section 7.

When I realised I was in for a good time over the next few sections.

Amazing work! Porting doom to something bizarre is on my bucket list. Even as it becomes a meme.

I am flabbergasted you were able to download working source code from the manufacturer's website for a 20yo device... I'd have bet you a thousand dollars you'd never find it!

For v2, use the handset and/or speakerphone for audio output!

I know Doom ports are old hat but this was a really refreshing read in today's era of AI news and slop. Thank you

Absolutely, what I also noticed after reading it twice (well rereading the reverse engineering section).

No patreon, no Kofi. This article is a labour of love and that shows.

On the other hand the article someone couldn't be bothered to write themselves = "hey you should support me with money!".

Nothing against AI and using it to review your writing. Just something I've noticed

Thank you! I honestly just wanted to share this neat little project I did, and getting feedback on it is much more important to me than any kind of monetary incentive.
