I dunno why someone would link to the repo, it's not a project one builds to host locally. Previously https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=openalternative.co

Also, for comparison:

https://openalternative.co/?q=splunk

https://alternativeto.net/software/splunk/?license=opensourc...

We have dedicated alternative pages for a lot of projects, including Splunk: https://openalternative.co/alternatives/splunk

A useful feature would be to show such individual project pages when a user searches for a matching term.

Great project by the way! I will be visiting it again to learn more about open source alternatives.

That's a great idea! I'll try to implement it soon. Thanks a lot.

It is funny that a site that promotes open alternatives runs on e.g., AWS S3.

What's funny is you thinking there is a purity test that should be applied here.

I also use Inngest, Plausible and PostHog which are open source. Hard to find a decent alternative to S3 and even if you find one, they just use S3 under the hood so what's the point?

It's definitely not hard to find an S3 alternative

All you made clear to me is that you are somewhat of an asshole to be honest.

If it isn’t clear for you why, maybe get some of your crayons out of wherever you keep them.
