Americans: take note that this miniseries, which perpetuated anti-American propaganda myths (repeated by participants in this very thread), was developed by the CBC, a state-run, taxpayer-funded media outlet. For decades, Ottawa has freely used anti-Americanism as a caulk to bind together a confederation otherwise prone to fracture due to linguistic (French-English) and geographic (West-East) division. Politicians in Canada regularly use it to insult their opponents and to distinguish themselves. The end result? readthemaple.com/canadian-views-of-the-u-s-have-trended-negatively-for-decades/
Then they act shocked when the relationship has frayed, when it would have done so much sooner if Americans hadn't been so apathetic that they actually knew what their "friends" really thought of them.

The downvotes don't change the fact that the Canadian government has been actively inciting anti-Americanism in its citizens as a matter of policy for decades, with the Myth of the Arrow serving as a prime example. You see it today in the "Elbows Up" movement. Almost overnight, it became socially acceptable to be patriotically angry and to wave the flag. During the Convoy Protest, those same actions resulted at best in being labeled a fascist and at worst in having your bank accounts frozen. And this overnight reversal was brought about by a historically unpopular PM. Would this have been possible without the conditioning to which these people (especially boomers, who comprise the bulk the movement) have been subjected?
